PaulVandal Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 i have broken my knuckle about a few months ago, and its starting to annoy me, is there any way (apart from drinking milk) that i can strenghten my bones in my hand
Jiffy Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Is it the bone or the muscles around the bone you wish to strengthen? If it's the bone, there's not a whole lot you can do.How exactly is it annoying you? The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
DragonMike Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Once it heals, you can always do knuckle pushes up to toughen them up. 5th Dan Tang Soo Do
Meguro Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Usually, when people say they broke their knuckle, they are referring to a fracture of the metacarpal and not the knuckle joint itself. Is this the case with you? If so, which finger was involved? The pinky?Anyway, think about strengthening your forearm, wrist and hand muscles. A stable and well formed fist can reduce the incidence of hand injuries. Consider getting hand grippers or a stress ball to squeeze. Also, work-up to doing push-ups on the two big knuckles of your fist. If you end up doing knuckle push-ups on the small knuckles of your hand, your fist is not tightly and properly formed.Bones "harden" in response to the stress of bearing a load. Weight training, knuckle-pushups and the like should toughen you up.Good luck with your recovery.
jaymac Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Train on heavy bag or maki wara board to strengthen knuckles. Be sure when punching, that you are hitting with only the first two knuckes of index finger and middle finger and that your wrist is straight when striking. If not, you will break bones again. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.

Jeet Kune Do Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 well I have posted here before about my knuckles broken,I was waiting for it to heal but that took too long but then I found how to heal quicker I drank MILK, and that actually healed my knuckle, so now I do Knuckle push-ups and my knuckles are really strengthining Try that, I can't find any other way to heal except for waiting ..or drinking the almighty MILK , oh and do Knuckle Push ups on a hard surface like wooden floors or marble. A drop of sweat spent in practice is a drop of blood saved in a battle.A person who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the man doing it.
