Hiya everyone,

Last Friday at school, in gym class I was sitting down on the floor listening to the teacher talk about track and how to throw a shotput and all that boring stuff. Well from the floor I got up, and my knees kinda cracked, but then again it does that a lot. Anyway, as I started walking to the door to go outside, I noticed my knees hurt, and I thought maybe I had just gotten up weird. But now it's Monday and it still hurts. It doesn't hurt all the time, but just once in a while and when there's a lot of pressure on the knees. Anywho, I just thought it'd heal, but I went to TKD class today and when I came back my knees hurt so much I could barely walk. And then now it's healed again... Geez, what's up with this? Does anyone know what I should do? LIke should I leave it in hot water, or put ice on it, etc? Thanks a bunch. Oh also also when it doesn't hurt it just feels weird, kinda like it's more stronger or somethin.

Thank you for reading

Hiya, just a little question here - how old are you?

Its not uncommon to suffer from this sort of thing from growing pains accompanied by Overwork - I should know I'm suffering the same really badly at the moment.

Either way I recommend you see a doctor and ask to be recommended to a physiotherapist.

Hey, I'm 12 turning thirteen next week. Yeah, I hope it's only growing pain and nothing really bad. I'll go see a doctor if it hurts for another week. Thanks a bunch Jack.

Ps. This is a dumb question, but what's a physiotherapist?

You're welcome Hiya.

Sounds like a major cause of this could indeed be growing pains then at that age, but you should get it checked out to make sure.

A physiotherapist deals with with the human body with gentle exercises and stretches, along with massages and other treatments to help to cure or ease pain in a lot of problems.

I am 22 now but when I was younger I used to get that alot, it does reall hurt and it gets worse when you use your knees for running etc. but It just seemed to be growing pains and it will proably go away,

however in the mean time when you feel pain move you knee joints with your arm (not putting any waeight on them) this will stimulate them and releave the pain, also fast rubbing of the hands on the surface, this is only temp relief thought but it is what In used to do and It helped alot.

I would say to your TKD instructor he may know some exercises to help to.
