Goju_boi Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 hellow my ppl'z. About 2 weeks ago I was at my dojo and I was stretching before class. I was finishing it up with the splits and I was going for my 4th set to be done with everything. When I lowered myself down I went all the way down. All of a sudden I heard and felt my bones in my pelvis area on my right leg go "crack." I got up and felt extreme pain and couldn't practice comfortably for the rest of the night and to this day too. What I want to know is what went wrong if I'm flexible enough to do this? And how can I fix this myself? or if i should see a doctor? This really annoys me since I can't go all out and stretch like before. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Aodhan Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I would go see a doctor. It could be any number of things, none of them very good. With a loud "Crack" and continuing pain while doing splits, I might tend to suspect an avulsion fracture. This is where the muscle tightens (Such as if you lost balance or something similar and tensed up), and a piece of bone is actually torn away where the tendon is anchored.None of the possibilites with a loud sound and continuing pain are very attractive, so get thee to a doctor!Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
vertigo Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I absolutely agree with Aodhan - If you've had continual pain for 2 weeks, that's definitely not a good sign. You're probably not going to be able to do a lot of good just resting it - I'd recommend seeing a doctor, and soon! Goju_boi Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 I don't know if this helps , but I have a weak immune system due to medications. So this makes me heal slower. I'm thinking maybe it has to do with it lasting so long or maybe not. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
JusticeZero Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 It doesn't matter, continuing pain for the better part of one week is enough to direct you to a doctor, let alone two. "Anything worth doing is worth doing badly." - Baleia

Immune system is more the bodies ability to fight off colds/infections.Any pain that lingers for a week or more and especially any pain that hinders movement needs to be checked by a professional. If you are afraid that he might say stop training for a couple weeks, think about how it will feel a month from now when he say "Well, it could have been a couple weeks, now it's going to be a couple months."See a doc, dude. Goju_boi Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 I feel it considerably less, but it's still there. Anyways , what kind of doc should I see? Just a regular doc or a specific one? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu

If not, go to your general practictioner and see if you can get a referral to a sports doc.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
cleung Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Like everyone else, I think you should see a doctor, a sports doc if there's one local. Maybe physiotherapy might be recommended by the doctor too. Get well before anymore serious training. ClintFree Spirit Martial Arts Activewearhttp://www.FreeSpiritActivewear.com
Goju_boi Posted January 8, 2006 Author Posted January 8, 2006 well I haven't seen the doc b/c my mom doesn't think anything of it. Anyways , I stretched on Friday and stretched fine. the only thing though, is that in a lot of exercises for my right side wouldn't go all the way. I still feel a lil bit of pian, but way less than before. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
