Trouble in the middle east

well, glingglo, although i appreciate the support, clinton has yet to be attacked here for the monica scandal, but for improving foreign relations with china. the real trouble here is that kchenault and i will never see eye to eye :P his views are right wing, mine are left. he likes reagan, i don't. i like FDR, he... may or may not. he calls clinton a coward for sucking up to china, i think it was just a wonderful idea and helping to keep the peace. i don't believe that the U.N. is a terrible idea, but i do believe that it's a terrible organization. it picks and chooses the countries it wants, and the US is really in constant control anyways. i think if it was done right it would be much better, but it's not, and it never will be.

also, no country has ever done anything out of the goodness of there hearts. oh, sure, the US got into WWII to free the jewish from the holocaust. that's why we entered it from the beginning and sto--- oh wait, that's right... we only got into it after pearl harbor was attacked in retalliation... not to say that our involvement in WWII was a bad idea, but history classes look at the US as a god send for entering it, noble hero's trying to save minorities, when in actuality it was just people pissed about getting bombed. not exactly a bad reason in its self, but ... yeah, i forgot where i was going with that. also, this is all opinion from what i've read, because i wasn't alive during WWII :P in fact, this "war" was the first war i've lived through that i'm old enough to remember entirely. but remember all, bush got this done in under 60 days; there really wasn't a war declaration. oh, and also glingglo, we didn't exactly attack iraq for it's involvement in 9/11. we've been after iraq since the first bush, perhaps before, but i don't remember (wow i wish i was older, this is getting tough  ) we've known about there tyranny and such for quite some time, they've been our enemies since the day i was born (FYI- April 16, 1986, the day i was born, we bombed the heck outta' Libya). we've tried to level with them like, what, 21 times? something like that. i still don't agree in going to "war" with them, but i can see where one might have called for it. and i got side tracked talking to one of my friends, and now i've completely lost my train of though, so i'll just stop now

you're very welcome, and thank you as well.

I would love to leave everyone to their own countries.

FYI glingo, I was speaking about the former USSR. Do you remember that. Yeah, a conservative president brought it down and the Berlin Wall. Stinkin' conservatives! :(

We may be from different sides politically, but we can still get along. That's what America is all about. Great post battousai16. Some of my good friends are liberals. I salute you for your conviction. And at such a young age. Pilsung!

Pilsung is Korean for Victory or Certain Victory. It is what we say when we bow to each other in the dojang. It's a respect thing.

I am not american and only 17 so maybe i am not wise/bright/expirienced enough to fully understand matters of politics and war BUT:

in find it surprising how bush could blew up surplusses and the growing economy in no time at all. but at least he didnt have more votes than gore who in my opinion would have been the better choice. too bad bush became president nonetheless, but whatever. whats done is done! its interesting that such a non-intellectual person (college drop out BELOW average and failed as the chairman of three oil comanys as far as i know)

but whatever...

as for the middle east:

is was clear from the beginning (after WWII), when the brittains brought the jews back to what then was Palastine, that there would be war, because, just like in europa, in the middle east as well, NOONE wanted the jews to be there.

what i really hate is the methods of the palastines to recruit these "suicide assassin". the most popular tv show for the smallest kids (like the sesame street) tells them that it is good to blow up urself and kill as many israels as possible. sure - sharon aint the best partner for a peace contract but under former president Ehud Barak they were SO CLOSE to peace, but Arafat (the ***** that got Nobell Price for peace :kaioken: ) didnt take it although it would have guarenteed a new palastine nation, the end of military strikes by israel, drawing back of military from gaza and the safe return of driven out palastines. no need to wonder why the israels now votet for a president that kicks the palastines b***... no one really has complete control over the palastine extremists no there'll always be violence and violence as an answer for the violence from before and violence for vengeance for the violence that was meant as vengeance for the violence blablabla...

maybe it was wise to pull back and not to make so many efforts like clinton did even in his last week of being president, for a contract.

before this becomes too long i better quit with my hope for the future: i believe that there will be peace some day. maybe it'll take some time, but there have been many civil wars that appeared to never end, but they did. NOT a way to reach this is by increasing the military budget or whatever... the hate must be defeated, then we got a chance.

thank you :)
