Hey everybody, I was just wondering what the recovery time might be for a long-distance run or bike might be? I'm estimating somewhere in the reason of one or maybe two rest days? I'm not talking about absolute intensity, something of a reasnoble intensity for half an hour. Any ideas?

Thanks.

It depends on what shape you're in to start with. As part of the training camp I've just come back from (an hour ago!) we ran 5 miles every day for 8 days - this was in addition to 5 hours martial arts training per day.

For "normal" and "sensible" folk I'd say a day is plenty rest from a medium intensity 30 minute run.

since this thread is talking about running, i think i'll bump in a question:

how fast should one run to improve the leg's strength? any special routines? such as 100m sprint, 200 m jog (about xkm/hr)?

what about stamina?

Any sort of running will help the leg's strength, but weighttraining the Legs would be more effective.

Try using the Search feature and looking up "running" "leg strength" and its likely you will find all you need to know!
