i noramlly perform bag work around 4days a week, its aint anything intense or regulated, but i was hoping you guys could give me a good routine

at the mo it goes like this

50 no glove punches

then about 300 glove punches

then 25ridge hands , both hands

25 hooks and uppercuts, both hands

then i perform front kicks, round kicks, side kicks, step sidedkicks, step front kicks, and step spinning back sidekick,

i do five of each and do it with each leg,

thats about it,

since i am already following a time system with my press ups and crunches, i was thinkin maybe you guys and garls think it would be a good idea to do some sort of timing rountine with the number of punches and kicks?

You seem to have a good variety going there. I would suggest beginning with upper body (jabs, uppercuts, crosspunches, backfist, hooks to bag) Slow (power) then increase tempo (doubletime) alternating left and right.

Do your lower next ..kicks. Front, side, roundhouses (off lead then off back leg ... alternating sides. Do power kicking and then you can also do some tension kicks to bag too. You work on a number that is good for you ... start at 50 increase to 100 each technique/each leg.

Then put them together! Jab/Punch/Front Kick off back leg etc. etc.

This is what I do for my cardio kickbox class ... I do have routines I can email to you. PM me ... give me some time, and I can have a few sent.

try to work some good combo's now

the three basic fundamental combos that i learned when i began was

jab - cross - lead leg roundhouse

cross - hook - rear leg roundhouse

jab - body hook - head hook - cross

try to make it a habit to always enter and exit with a kick

You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!

i seem to do a set seperate routine of kicks and punches, do you think i should mix them up, and just try out everything for lets say at one minute intervals, with like 30 second rest, doing lets say four of them?

I think first you should do each technique a few times, to warm up a little. After that I think you should mix them up and do that for a few minutes with rests in between. Least that's what I would do.

Hmm, well I'd say more kicks, man..

I don't always think a SET NUMBER is a good idea.. When I'm out on my bag I practice it until I feel comfortable with it, or fix up something I'm not happy with.. Then I drill it a few times to try and keep it in my mind, or store it in muscle memory.

It takes sacrifice to be the best.

There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.

I must say I don't really plan or set a number of techniques. I just go into the bag and think up a combination quickly before executing it a couple of times. I tend to just go with the flow and mix up techniques, it helps me find what works for me pretty well.

Well, gotta go, bagwork calls!

Well...

Yesterday I broke my friend's punchbag with a roundhouse kick, the bag came falling off the bracket... then the bracket came torn out of the wall and also fell.

And now I just roundhoused my own and did the exact same!

Hmmm, I'm getting quite proud of my Roundhouse kick.
