White Belt Okinawa Kobudo (Preference: Bo, like Shaolin monks )

I was a 3rd dan in traditional karate.

 

Now I'm simply a "black belt" in freestyle karate. I run my own class and I am "independent", in other words I no longer belong to a large organization. I work out with anyone I think has the skill, been doing quite a bit of cross training lately, kickboxing and grappling. We don't emphasize dan grades after "black belt".

 

24 years training.

Gensei-ryu 6th kyu, blue belt

 

Shorin-ryu 8th kyu, yellow belt

Officially?

 

2nd dan Goju-Ryu and Blue Belt in Judo.

 

Non-officially I've trained Shukokai, Muay, Kickboxing, freestyle grappling, etc.

I'm a purple belt in the style of Hon-Shin-Do Karate.

 

Brown is my next goal.

White belt (American freestyle Karate), hoping to be promoted to yellow belt on 01/18.

I currently hold the rank of green belt in Isshinryu Karate. I also have training (but since none is awarded, no rank) in Boxing as well as three years of Freestyle Wrestling. And I dont plan to stop there..

 

Seidokan - 4th Kyu (Blue Belt) (was about to attempt grade up when a hip injury put me out of training for a year)

 

Seido - 8th Kyu (Blue Belt)

 

Shotokan - 1 year's study (no grading taken)

 

Judo - 1 year's study (no grading taken)

 

I've avoided gradings for 10 years now, in any case!
