Shorin-Ryu Karateka
Was this event supposed to be on pay per view because I never saw a single promotion and I probably would have purchased just for the novelty. Charlie
There's also a fairly good recap/synopsis of the event on the WCL site at:http://www.worldcombatleague.com/current-event.aspNo mention anywhere on the site (that I could find) on if or when it might be shown on TV. MiccyNarc
Carlos Tearney is a Renshi at the Dojo where I'm training. I laughed when I readTearney started with the advantage as he had an entire cheering section for him, complete with signs like 'It's Showtime'. That's our Dojo, for sure. I wish I could have gone. Armbar
Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I just found out about this. Hope this takes off. The video found here: http://www.worldcombatleague.com/media/wmv/Debut.wmv has one of the most brutal high round kick KO i've ever seen. Check it out. granmasterchen
looked pretty good to me, i would continue to watch it, it reminds me of the older full contact sparring matches back in the 70s That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
tkdan
My latest black belt mag had a good artical about it. I think it will be good for martial arts. I think it is a matter of it getting enough TV time in order to get people interested. I'm sure there are people like me who are not interested in seeing every fight go to the ground. If you are a boxing fan you would not want to see matches end up grappling either. This is my opinion but I like stand-up fighting.
aefibird
It sounds like a great series, I hope it really takes off. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
