Styles of Korean art uniform

Featured Replies

I really like the "diamond" style uniforms that I believe is worn by Moo Duk Kwon black belts. But I've seen them in Hapkido & Tae Kwon Do, too. Can anyone tell me if there is a certain BB rank that one is allowed to wear this dobok top (ie. master's level) or is it just a BB thing?

as far as what i know from speaking with alot of Korean masters some believe its a uniform for masters, but most ive talked to just require masters to wear them to distinguish them from the regualr uniforms so students can find the master if they need him

 Thanks, Tiger! I've always wondered & never asked my instructor back in the day. Those have always been my favorite uniforms.!

In my TKD group (Scorpion, affiliated to BTCB and WTF) you can wear the "diamond" type uniform (like the Hapkido uniform) once you are 3rd Dan or above. However, most of the Dan grades I know just wear a 'regular' dobok. I've only ever seen one person from my org. wearing a "diamond pattern" uniform.

You're welcome Iceman, they are pretty cool, Ive gone through alot of Korean suppliers of websites, and they have tons of different types of uniforms like that with different colors.

I'm always looking for a unique style uniform. Heck, even black pants w/ a white top works for me. Most of the "diamond style" uniforms are just too much uniform for my rank, but I really like em anyway! :D
