y2_sub Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 SANDBAG!!!! Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
Goju_boi Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 wouldn't it be the same as a punching bag? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
roguewolftamer Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 i seen a punching bag that had a ball attached to itthe ball was supose to make the bag less predictable (cause it would change the direction it swings abit), but i dont have the money to buy it, else i would
Goju_boi Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 how did this bag look? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
roguewolftamer Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 it was about half of a normal punching bag with a ball attached to the bottom of it (same length as a normal punching bag since the ball had to be just so far from the bag)
Goju_boi Posted October 9, 2005 Author Posted October 9, 2005 And this ball made it swing more? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
roguewolftamer Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 supose to help change the direction, so if u hit it, i think the ball was supose to help move it around more then a normal punching bagnow im sure if u got the ball goin it'd be more effective 12.5" diameter; 40" overall; Weight: 70lbs.(including attached ball bag)http://www.wle.com/media/01663.jpg
Goju_boi Posted October 10, 2005 Author Posted October 10, 2005 can you actually hit the the ball?or is it just for the swingning effect? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
donvieira Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I have a makiwara that I bought through Paul enfield and it is the closest I have ever hit compared to an in ground makiwara. The masters still do makiwara to this day, that in itself should speak volumes. Don pain is weakness leaving the body.....moo ichi do.......A black belt is a white belt that did not give up.
lordtariel Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I would think a jar of beans would be a safer way to practice spear and finger strikes than hitting a bag. I wouldn't go overboard with it though. My sensei used to condition his feet by doing toe kicks to a hard target, and while it did calcify some of the bone, it made his toes totally gnareled. At least those can be covered by shoes, can't do that with your hands. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
