PaulVandal Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 i had a fight recentley while i was very drunk and had broken the nuckle on my little finger on my right hand, ever since it has healed it still hurts my whole right hand when i punch things, is there a way i can make this annoying pain stop or to strenghthen my bones in my hands to make it hurt less?
Shorinryu Sensei Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 i.....it still hurts my whole right hand when i punch things, is there a way i can make this annoying pain stop or to strenghthen my bones in my hands to make it hurt less?Yes....QUIT PUNCHING THINGS! *sigh*... How much more obvious can you get? Now, before anybody blows a gasket here, think about it. You've hurt your hand. That injury needs time to heal. Continued abuse of it (punching things) will only slow, and aggrivate, the healing process. Give it a rest and let it heal. My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"
Jay Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 punch air or kick instead till it heals it wont heal if you keep punching things dring a lot of milk that will help The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
Zaine Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 lol that would be the obvious answer...to stop hitting things...but if you dont work out your hand and arm your punches could fail you...my suggestion is to get something that you could punch that doesnt hurt your hand and as you progress you can move to harder things Martial arts training is 30% classroom training, 70% solo training.https://www.instagram.com/nordic_karate/
Belasko Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Yes....QUIT PUNCHING THINGS! *sigh*... How much more obvious can you get? Now, before anybody blows a gasket here, think about it. You've hurt your hand. That injury needs time to heal. Continued abuse of it (punching things) will only slow, and aggrivate, the healing process. Give it a rest and let it heal. Great advice. If you don't let it rest it will get worse and possibly cause long term damage. I recomend not punching solid objects for probly 6-8 weeks then slowly work back up. In the meantime practice the techniques, just don't hit an object! Getting a blackbelt just says you have learned the basics and are ready to actually study the form as an art.
Jiffy Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Another question, why is it your little finger that is hurting?I'm not aware of a Martial Art yet that says you should punch with that part of the hand. In all the arts I've trained in, whether verticle or horizontal fist, it's always only the first two knuckles that should make contact. And aside from that.... yeah, let it heal. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Jay Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 jiffy it depends on what sort of punch you are doing if its a hook punch taking a mad swing at someone when you are drunk then you tend to hit with the last nuckle especially when your drunk The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
