AngelaG
Occasionally I will turn off the lights, light a few candles, put on some soothing music and just lie on my bed and empty my mind. It unclutters my thoughts, calms me down, and generally leaves me feeling a lot more realxed and content. Unfortunately I have a very busy life, and don't have enough of this "me time" as I would like. lgm
what is the best mediation method to reduce stress and fearDo your kata alone. Do all your kata in private, with no one present who may be reviewing or critiquing your movements, when you want to reduce stress and conquer inner fear. This is more effective than ordinary meditation in a stationary posture. You release unwanted excess energy and uncomfortable physical tensions from your body through actual physical workout and bring it to a more tranquil baseline, while at the same time focusing mentally on your techniques as you execute them can re-charge faster your mental energies than just simply randomized, unfocused thinking that often happens in ordinary stationary meditative state. Try it.Gene
Muaythaiboxer
i strongly dissagree with that assumption, but seeing as i dont do kata i guess to each there own.in my experience meditation has had a profound effect on my life. every night (ok nearly every night) i meditate for an hour, i start off with 15 min of zazen style meditation (focusing on breath, count one as you breath out and two as you breath in up to ten then start over) in the lotus position. next i switch to 30min of chanting (om mani padma hum) than back to 15 min of zazen. this is what has worked best for me. pictureing wining a fight is also great. ninjanurse
Visualization can be a very valuable tool. I mediate on kata all the time which is both relaxing and beneficial to performance. scad
when i meditate i usually sit indian style and hang my hands over my knees and keep my back straight, breath by pushing out your stomach and not expanding your chest. keep your eyes barely open and try to relax, then count to three while inhaling then hold and count to three, then exhale and count to three. and just do that repeatidly. this will help with breathing alot. i am not sure hwo other arts use meditation but this is how we do it in tae kwon do-scad nomatter what it be, will power and heart produces great things
JAKEHE3078
Step one: kneel on flower back straight chest out close your eyes and breath in till you cant fill your lungs anymore with air.Step two:Exhale all of air.Step three:Repeat step one.Step four:Do this until you loose all circulation in your legs and you cant feel them any more.Step five:Repeat step two.Step six:Now hold your breath. Do this until you pass out. Only then can you meditate without distractions.Seriously just Kneel down, or cross your legs concentrate on breathing and think about what you want to acomplish. You do not need to be flexible to do a Jodan (head kick), if your opponent is already on the ground.
