Son Goku the monkeyking Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Well dose any1 now if he used a style for his army at all or what was it. PEACE
isshinryu5toforever Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 which army are you talking about? like Atilla the Hun? The Hunnic people were a nomadic horse people from the Asiatic steppes. They didn't have a style, they shot arrows at you from horses until they got close enough to kill you with a club or sword. Also, the huns were spread throughout the steppe, they weren't under the exclusive control of Atilla until he forced them. If this is not who you are talking about, please specify exactly who in the world you are speaking of. He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened.- Tao Te Ching"Move as swift as a wind, stay as silent as forest, attack as fierce as fire, undefeatable defense like a mountain."- Sun Tzu, the Art of War

Aodhan Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Well dose any1 now if he used a style for his army at all or what was it. PEACE No martial arts style, the big thing for the Huns was the invention of the stirrup. This allowed a rider to not have to grab the mane to hold on, and thus freed up both hands. This allowed the Huns to shoot their bows from horseback, which was an incredible advantage. They rode around their enemies just shooting them with arrows.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
y2_sub Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I am not sure but i think the Mongols used the same strategy ?? Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
Jay Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 they where just an army rite? The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
Menjo Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 (edited) I am not sure but i think the Mongols used the same strategy ??Actually many mongols used tatics from temujin, however many of temujins tatics were from ONG Khan in his earlier years. However they did use similar tatics to the huns and respected tham quite alot, however contrary to popular belief they usually used less violent ways unless insulted. O yea, and before the mongol clan united the steppes temujin and jamuka created alot of tatics for their own basic warefare until they ran into more fortified nations such a china, poland, georgia, turks, and had to develop tatics for their invasions of japan. So yea, mongolia from my knowledge had a better understanding of siege warefar, intimidation, and horseback riding since each kid would be able to stand on a steed runnig full speed when they were close to 6, But they lacked any naval strategy whatso ever, which is why japan massacerd them."they where just an army rite?"Actually they conquered the world pretty much, and owned more land than any other country and even today( they pretty much had all of asia, including northern china). They would have beaten europe however temujin(genghis Khan) wanted to destroy india, and that resulted to his death in 1227 from illness. O yea, they had a capital laws agaisnt slavery and were very cililized compared to other countries of the world, and genghis khan did most of it with less than 100 thousand men. y2_sub Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 They were pretty tough fighters , and they even had their own martial art ( Mongolian wrestling ) Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
Menjo Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Yea, but only when the mongolian family took out other familyies(tayichiud) was the art adapeted into their culture( early 1200s) "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst"William Penn
