Hey guys, I'm kinda worried about this, and maybe you can help alleviate some of my worries.

When I do a front right kick, after re-chambering, I hear/and feel a popping noice coming from my upper leg. I wouldn't say it's painfull, more okward. Anyone experianced this? My legs are sore from streching, and I took the day off yesterday, but I can't help to worry about this.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Chris

Is it the hip region or knee area? Audible popping is not good if it feels awkward.

It's in the hip.

Well, it feels akward because I know it shouldn't be happening. Someone in the office told me once I build up strength and stretch more, then it will go away.

It's usually with a front kick that it happens, but can happen simply by my pulling my knee up to my abs, then putting it back down. Sometimes I don't hear or feel it.

Ask a physician about this. It is not a normal reaction to such a basic movement. I'm not saying get scared and worry, just get it checked out.

Definately have it checked. You could be looking for trouble like I did by not having it checked. My left hip hurts when I perform certain kicks and stretches because my hip flexors weren't strong enough. Do hindu squats to strengthen these areas. That will help some.

I was just told about these in my other post about leg training. I did some research on it and it seems pretty easy, but I'm sure it's hard. I would try it at work, but for fear of looking like a dummy, I'll wait till I get home. I'll also consults my Masters wife tonight. She's a physical therapist. Hopefully, she'll have something that I can do for this.

Thanks man!

It's possible it will go away. Most likely, it is either the femur slightly displacing at the extreme end of a movement (Kick or stretch), or intensive stretching has loosened the ligaments slightly. It's also possible that it is a tendon or ligament passing over a joint and back again.

I get a popping in my lower back when I do reverse crunches. Had it for years, and no ill effects. Talk to a doc or PT, and go from there.

Well, I'm gonna give it a week and see if it goes away. My time is very limited right now, and I can't really afford to miss work for this. If by this time next week, I'm still hear/feeling it, I'll get it checked out.

This happens to me occasionaly, and i found out my problem is from over use i have the exact same symptons as you. If i stretch and give my body a break it goes away once i forget about it. I wouldnt freak out or anything its probably nothing too bad.
