scottnshelly Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Before I give my answer, I need you to answer the following:1) What is your goal/why are you training in Martial Arts2) What rank are you in your current school3) How are you sure that you have surpassed all of the higher-ranking students in the class?
y2_sub Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Go check the other school , but don't be that confident about yourself . Moon might shine upon the innocent and the guilty alike
Shane Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Look out for #1 train what you want to train if you think you would be happier elsewhere then go elsewhere. A True Martial Arts Instructor is more of a guide than anything, on your way to developing the warrior within yourself!!!!!
unknownstyle Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 i think you should ask your instructor what he/she thinks about this, then you should be able to figure out what is the right thing to do "Live life easy and peacefully, but when it is time to fight become ferocious."
italian_guy Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 The ages of total loyalty to one dojo are gone since long time.... and you always benefit from cross-training expecially (like in this case) if the two arts are totally different.
Adonis Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 Loyalty to a dojo has its place. BUt mostly because students jump around alot and don't really understand how to use what they are learning. Now adays there are intructors who push for loyalty so they can keep students ignorant of other schools and keep you and your wallet at there school. Obviously you mentioned you want to be a better more well rounded fighter. So go to the other guys school. Let us know how your training is going over there.
