Goju_boi
I didn't say he couldn't make good gains,I said that if he just sticks to the same weight pair of dumbells and doesn't move on up,he's just going to maintain what he has.Anyways if this guy gets himself a set of adjustable dumbells or buys more equipment like a weight station, then he doesn't need to worry for a while. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu

Goju_boi
are these workouts geared for bodybuilders only? https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
CagedWarrior
they are great , but barbell workouts are better. That's not necessarily true. Chest and shoulder exercises in particular with barbells are unnatural and not too good for the shoulder joint. Dumbells are probably (important word) the better choice. Goju_boi
I've heard that too, but I think that dips or weighed dips are better than both. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Aodhan
I've heard that too, but I think that dips or weighed dips are better than both.Depends on how you do them. If you do dips that are fairly upright, then you mainly work your triceps, with very minimal involvement of the chest. You need to lean way forward to emphasize the chest in a dip.Contrary to popular opinion, the main movement of the chest muscle is not to "push" the arm out from the body. The main movement of the chest muscle is to bring the humerus (Upper arm bone) towards the center line of the body. This is why fly work emphasizes the chest more than a press. The main movement of the triceps is to straighten a bent arm, so when you do traditional bench presses, you are emphasizing the triceps as much (if not more) than then chest muscles.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
Goju_boi
well yeah you have to lean forward to get the chest in it,if you don't it becomes an isolation exercise, and those aren't the best lifts you can do.As for you bench press comment, the amount of work your triceps does depends on how close you have your elbows to your sides. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
