Sparring stlye in your dojo?

We spar kyokushin rules,

Beginners usually do light sparring, with or without pads at their own disgression.

Intermediate grades do light contact, no pads, and gradually move up to full-contact, no pads.

Blackbelts fight full-contact, no pads.

Bunkai is not included in Jiyu-Kumite, but is practiced in Ippon/Sanbon Kumite, or similar.

We do kumite done on the knees and stand up kumite (done with some pads). They are non-stop full contact. The ground kumite continues until someone taps. The only rules are no biting, eye gouging, striking (when doing grappling-only), hard neck strikes, and you must stop if someone taps.

Stand up kumite = no eye gouging, no hard neck strikes, no hard kicks to the knees, and try and stick to striking/blocking (instead of performing takedowns).

We do no contact sparring without pads obviously and we also do complimentary sparring which is a little bit slower so you can just go at it however and the goal isnt as much to hit them as to just keep it going but every once in a while it does get quite rough but there isnt really much force put in the blows no matter how fast we get going.

full contact, only gloves. when you get you green belt you start to go for the head, groin and sweeps. the only time you wear headgear is when you are sparring for you green belt test
