Dog Brothers Martial Arts is a full contact stickfighting group. Not for the faint of heart. Their motto is "Higher consciousness through harder contact.". Personally I'll stick to full contact kickboxing and MMA, but I have a lot of respect for the guys with the guts to get out there and do what they do.

For gear, they wear a fencing/Kendo type helmet, some type of gloves, and that's it. Like I said, it's full contact, not for points, and they are allowed to hit with the stick, punch, kick and even grapple (they are allowed to hit with the stick on the ground).

Recently the Dog Brothers are getting into something they call "Kali Tudo", which is Kali/Escrima/Arnis empty hand strategies and techniques for MMA. Personally, I don't think it will be able to hold up with the Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, etc you see in MMA competition, but hey, you never know. Either way, I have serious respect for them, not only for stepping up and doing stickfighting for real, but because they also have a seriously effective and straightforward system of Kali.

...but I'll still stick with Kickboxing/Jiu-Jitsu/MMA ;)

Passion transcends pain.

Dog Brothers effective? Well, lets just say that I'd never pick a fight with a guy wearing a shirt with their name on it.

And no, I don't think they have online training.

It's happy hour somewhere in the world.

Mu Ryuk, I'm guessing you read the BB mag article?

Nope. I saw the issue the other day, but I didn't read it. I've known about the Dog Brothers for quite a while.

Passion transcends pain.

My JKD school has some contact with them.

The 'european dog brother' (do not remember his name) holds frequent seminar in my school.

My sifu thinks they are a very good example of MMA with weapons.
