Maddwraph Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 yeah, i didint think they would hurt from exercising them too much, but ouch. i did some ab exercises today, more than my body cn probably handle, and now they are hurting me. so, keep that in mind when you do your ab work. this cant be dangerous can it? im only 17, and i ehard im still growing. i just dont want to do anything that will mess my abs and metaloblism and stuff. ni exercise for me tomororw. Im brasilian, but live in the united states. Really enjoying martial arts.
yamesu Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 No pain no gain.Hehehe, prob not the best advice huh.Id just rest/sleep if I were you. your body should repair in a day or two.Remember to only do set amonts of repetitions, this way you wont get out of your depth and cause an injury.The worst I think could happen is ahernia, but is prob' only a streched muscle.See a doctor if pain persists! yamesu Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Id go for it, but try not to do what you did the other day, just tone it down a bit until your body is conditioned enough to take the pain regularly.Like I said,You dont want to end up with a Hernia. ncole_91 Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 When your abs hurt, that means they are getting stronger. You just ripped your muscles, and then you need to rest so they repair and become even more stronger. The point of doing any muscle exercise is to actually work then, so they are sore the next day. This is why when you do weights you are not supposed to do weights every day.If your muscles dont get sore, you will not get much stronger.

CagedWarrior Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Abs are actually one of the few muscles you can workout when sore, though I personally don't recommend if they're REALLY sore.
