Gekisai Ich and ni at Yellow (Orange belt test).

Our belt system goes (White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Brown, Black). So Gekisai Ich (and ni) is the 4th (5th) kata we learn.

In Kyokushin you learn gekisai dai and gekisai sho at brown belt .

Correct , however , i learned them after grading the black belt .

gekisai dai is one of my favorites katas

There are two Gekisai Kata. Gekisai dai itch and Gekisai dai ni they are usualy the first two katas you will learn in Goju-Ryu if you dont learn Sanchin first.

Gekisai dai ni is almost the same as Gekisai dai itch it just contains Goju-Ryu specifig technics like Hiki-uke and Mawaschi-uke.

Gekisai dai itch is also practiced in Matsubayashi-Ryu I think its called Fukyu-kata-ni there.
