JKDkid2
my friend told me that push ups are bad for you and that there is no point in doin them because they don't help any part of the body is this true?
tangsoodo
pushups are good for you, they use mainly your shoulders, plus the rest of your body to keep straight. how good pushups are for you depends on if you do them the right way or not. elbows_and_knees
pushups are endurance exercises, so your friend is right in that they will not make you any stronger beyond a certain point. Also, they can be bad for you when done too much. it's not uncommon for a person to suffer repetitive stress injuries from them. That said, pushups are beneficial and will do you more good than harm. Just do them properly.
Rateh
what about "death pushups"?basically where u stand up, fall straight down, back straight etc, catch urself in hte bottom of a pushup position, and hten push up...ie u catch urself with ur hands with ur body just off the groundand combinations of that, where u do a clap pushup right after etc...i always thought those were a bad idea, but soem people like them also, what about egyptian style, and triangle/diamond?then ofc there is superman and clap onesanyone know if these are bad? i think at least a couple would be Your present circumstances don't determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start. - Nido Qubein

What is egyptian style?{quote]then ofc there is superman and clap onesanyone know if these are bad? i think at least a couple would be there are also t pushups... there are several variations of pushups. ovine king
I don't think any push-ups are bad per se, just don't do something that your body isn't prepared for or else you'll end up damaging yourself like you would any other type of exercise. earth is the asylum of the universe where the inmates have taken over.don't ask stupid questions and you won't get stupid answers. karatekid1975
I agree with ovine king. I have carpel tunnel in both wrists. So push-ups are bad for me. Well, not all that bad, but I can only do a certain amount (25)before my wrists start to hurt, even with proper technique. I can push myself on a good day, but if my wrists are sore, I just do what I can. Laurie F
Goju_boi
weights are good ,but push ups are better for endurance. And there so many variations that can shift the focus of what muscles are worked primarily. https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
