thats good. What style of karate did you do before or still do?

I been studying since 2001 but off and on. Since I joined the military in 2003 I haven't been training on a regular basis.

I studied Karate when I was very small, but my old instructor and I are still good friends. I also do JKD before jiu-jitsu every class, and I like it better than the more traditional arts.

How long you been in BJJ?

Here's a good one, I have been going to one of my old instructors students schools to improve my stand up. So I was sparing at about 50% with a guy around my size and we were about equal, only he did not have an answer for my leg kicks. Later we went to the ground and he was a fish out of water, I tapped him very quickly. But now hee sees why the ground game is important.

thats pretty good one bjj is #1,

I went to my old instructors school. He was showing grappling techniques that were pretty lame. I mean extremely lame. Like trap and roll but with out using the hip bum. just trap arm and leg and then use y our other hand and use a middle knuckle push on the ribs to roll some one over,

Or other horrbile techniques that don't work very well when some one rolls or puts on resistance.

I loved rolling with every one though. :-) '

Sad thing is past insructor knows stuff to teach better he just doesn't like grappling. I don't know why he insist on teaching junk.

Hope so, there is a blue belt in class who fights amature, but he is going pro soon. He dominated his last fight in Indy, and is fighting again december third so we are helping him train after class and it took some getting used to but now I like training MMA

I plan on getting a few more years of jiu-jitsu and JKD under my belt, I'm only 17 now so I'm not in a big hurry maybe 2008
