Jackets Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Does anyone have experiance with this style of martial arts? There is a local Dojo that teaches it near me. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks!!!
YODA Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Hmmmm...... Sogo Bujutsu isn't really a martial art as such but more a classification or concept (where have I heard THAT before!). It refers to classical Japanese arts that have a complete outlook in their training, often including swordsmanship, unarmed methods, archery, horsemanship etc etc. YODA2nd Degree Black Belt : Doce Pares Eskrima https://www.docepares.co.ukQualified Instructor : JKD Concepts https://www.jkdc.co.ukQualified Fitness Instructor (Weights, CV, Circuit, Kinesiology)
Joecooke007 Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 Kind of Yoda. Bushido is an art if you want concepts. Bujutsu may be more of an art. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
YODA Posted March 8, 2002 Posted March 8, 2002 I agree with the diff between Budo & Bujutsu (Bushido is a different animal) - the question was about Sogo Bujutsu, which is as I described _________________ YODA 2nd Degree Black Belt : Doce Pares Eskrima Instructor : JKD Concepts http://www.jkdc.co.uk / http://www.docepares.co.uk [ This Message was edited by: YODA on 2002-03-08 15:50 ] YODA2nd Degree Black Belt : Doce Pares Eskrima https://www.docepares.co.ukQualified Instructor : JKD Concepts https://www.jkdc.co.ukQualified Fitness Instructor (Weights, CV, Circuit, Kinesiology)
Jackets Posted March 9, 2002 Author Posted March 9, 2002 Okay, that does make sense. At this dojo when you take their classes they said you learn Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Iaido and Buki Jutsu. I know what all the other ones are but what's Buki Jutsu by the way. Thanks again guys.
YODA Posted March 9, 2002 Posted March 9, 2002 Hi again Jackets Buki Jutsu is a generic term for the study of Japanese weaponry.
