Kaminari Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Amount of protein depends on what your goals and training regimines are. If you're trying to bulk up/lift weights, you're gonna need to eat about the same number of grams of protein as pounds you weigh. Eggs are good for protein, although the yoke is mainly fat. Egg whites, though, are pure protein. Again, it depends on your goals, etc.

Aodhan Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Also, if your sensei is limiting you to wrist and ankle weights, I would not use them too much. Too much weight at the end of a limb like that can really cause havoc with the muscles, and can lead to injury. Also, (in my opinion), while they may help build slightly, the weight really is pretty negligible compared to what is needed to build/tone muscle. Also, if you work with the weights on a lot, you get used to balancing to offset the weights, then when you take them off, your balance is a little off. I personally don't recommend ankle/wrist weights at all for martial arts.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
