Inside Kung Fu is decent. You can have it delivered for like $30/year.

Journal of Asian Martial Arts is supposedly the best...they are a quarterly. You can sometimes find them at Barnes and Noble or Schinder's, however, you may need to go to their website to order.

Black Belt Magazine is probably the most widely read. The quality of the magazine itself is good however some of their content can be questionable. For instance articles about people done by their students or from someone selling a new video course.

Inside Kung Fu is probably the best Chinese MA magazine out there. It's published by the same people that do Black Belt I beleive. They don't have alot other than that though.

Tae Kwon Do Times is probably the sole magazine dedicated to Korean MA. Unfortunately both quality and content are questionable. However they do have good articles from time to time and Jhoon Rhee is a columnist.

All of the above magazines are usually available at most book stores.

I agree the quality of Black Belt varies greatly. I would suggest not subscribing, but only buying it if a particular article interests you.

Journal of Asian Martial Arts is an excellent choice, mainly because the

staff are highly educated and you would be hard pressed to find any "fluff"

articles (ie which is better ninjitsu vs shotokan karate)

Classical Fighting Arts (formerly Dragon Times) is also another good choice.

More geared towards Okinawan arts but plenty of good writers (ie Harrry Cook)

Too early in the morning? Get up and train.

Cold and wet outside? Go train.

Tired? Weary of the whole journey and longing just for a moment to stop and rest? Train. ~ Dave Lowry

Before you get a subscription, you might want to check your local libraries for copies. I just did a search and found out that the university library carries JAMA. I'm definitely going to check some copies out now. Thanks for the suggestion!
