Khan Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 It was hard. I was really nervous for most of it, until of course it was my turn to go for the kata and kihon, then my nerves seemed to dissapear. My hands seemed to just move, I didn't think about it then but the more I think about it now the more I think, "How did I do that!?" But, its good, I passed my granding and am now purple belt shotokan karate-ka.
Enviroman Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Congrats.Every "I passed!" post seems to be like your post. The "I was super nervous but in the clutch I pulled it off and I couldn't believe it" mentality-thing. Don't these sensei instill self-confidence?

sdargie Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 Congrats! O Sensei said that everyone has a defined sphere of strength and if you can get them outside that sphere then their strength will disappear. I say, EXPAND YOUR SPHERE!

sdargie Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 There's such a wonderful sense of family in our dojo that even during belt testing we can't keep from smiling and joking no matter how formal and serious we begin. Our testing cycle today is going to be different though since it's the last one before our Sensei moves to Norway. O Sensei said that everyone has a defined sphere of strength and if you can get them outside that sphere then their strength will disappear. I say, EXPAND YOUR SPHERE!
