Would you actually chose gatorade or powerade over water in a situation where normaly water would be needed for survival?

I would chose water, I just wanna here some says on this...

Hmmm, are you talking like being stranded out int he desert? If so I would take Gatorade since it's got sodium and carbs in it that you could otherwise lose. For regular workouts, I would say just plain water.

Both have their advantages, but in short workouts (hour or so), it doesn't make a huge difference whether you take water or gatorade. Where it starts mattering is in longer endurance events, upwards of a couple hours or more. This is where it starts to become more important to replace carbs and electrolytes (Potassium, sodium, etc).

For regular workouts, water. For long endurance type things, gatorade.

I'd choose water, although powerade/gatorade/lucozade type drinks can be useful, especially for endurace events.

Because you say survival, I would choose Gatorade. Although I sweat profusely at a workout, I have never considered any class to be a survival situation.

Water. Sodium will eventually leave you thirsting. That and the fact that I only drink water. To me pop is evil, really.

My sensei will randomly hit us in the stomach when he feels need be, we're all okay with it as it helps us resist the urge. And if pop comes up, well that's never happend, so anywas back to topic.

Water.
