monkeygirl Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Welcome to the forums! There aren't many 16-year-old girls who enjoy learning ancient alphabets...that's pretty impressive! Which one(s) are you learning now? 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
dtstiachi Posted June 21, 2005 Posted June 21, 2005 Welcome Darkness. This is a great site. Have fun and enjoy the forums. I know Hebrew and Greek, what ancient alphabets do you know? "The journey of a 1,000 miles starts with but a single step."
darkness Posted June 22, 2005 Author Posted June 22, 2005 Thank you for welcomes, nice to meet you. I know elder Futhark (the one used by the germanic tribes) really well and some parts of the variation ones used by other cultures. I know about half, i think, of the Ogham, which was used by the druids. I was also doing Theban script, but I abandoned it because the 'letters' are too elaborate, and all look really similar. I haven't had much time to learn any more in the recent past, but now that school is done I want to learn the Gothic alphabet, because it is relatively simple, but still elegant, plus, it related to the runes, the latin, and greek alphabets. Anyway, see you around, I guess.
Bruce WillPete7 Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Nice, thats pretty complex. I personally have never dived into the world of other languages besides english and spanish. Welcome to the forums Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless like water.
