Is it better to train abs once a day or can you effectivly train abs in morning and night ? I know people who swear by both .

For what purpose?

For ab strength- if you use weights properly then your abs will be used to stabalize your body, but you can also work your abs 2-6 times a week with perfect form sit-ups/l-sits/leg raises/knees to elbows... etc. If you don't use weights... get some and use em.

For a 6 pack- exercises won't do anything for you, unless you do weights incline sit-ups and weights leg raises and even then you'll only see the 6 pack once your BF% gets below 10-12% which won't lower with weights or ab exercises, only cardio and diet.

more of a rehab thing . Lower back surgery 2 months ago . need to maxamize strength in that area ASAP . Not that I would ever push beyond limitations so workouts are not overly intense at this point but form is good and workout is well rounded . just looking for advice on the effectivness of two a day as opposed to one at medium intesity at best .

if you use weights, it would be wise to insert some rest days in your weekly schedule. if not, then its all about your goals, and the intensity you wish to attain.

ive done abs exercises both once a day and twice (even 3 times) a day. 2/3 times a day worked very well for me, but the downside is that you have to have time in your schedule for that.

i obtained the best results (strength, look, stability) ive ever had for my midsection by doing 1000 crunches a day, 300 morning/afternoon and 400 before bed.

try every combination and see what works best for you.
