Right now, as a blue belt, I'm working on Heian Godan. It's fun, but I'm not sure how high to make the jump.

Just finished learning the Pinans. Starting to learn Kushanku.

You take Wado-ryu (kai)

I do too, I finished Kushanku recently, and I am working on Seipei and Bassai

I'm shelving Nijyushiho for awhile, picking up Unsu, Gojyushiho Dai.

In my style we do in order of what you learn by what belt:

Yellow: Pinan 1, Pinan 2

Green: Pinan 3, Pinan 4

Blue: Kibon 4, Pinan 5

Brown: Naihanchi 1, Naihanchi 2

First Black: Chinte Plus one of the Following

  • Second Black: All First Dan forms known, perform 6 with choice between first degree and second degree list which includes:

Little dragon, it looks like your school's renamed all your kata to numbers, as to count in Japanese is:

Ichi

Ni

San

Shi

Go

After that it kind of breaks down as 6 is Rokku, then Shichi and hachi. Oh, and your first kata is usually spelt kihon. I don't know any styles that name their katas like that.

I'm currently learning a Kata called Gotai Rhen.

Its an old Black Belt form from our style now taught at white Belt(6th Kyu)

As I've just come back to Shito Ryu after a lengthy absence,I have some catching up to do. :)
