RichardHangHong Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Currently I am working on Sochin. I think it's one of the most powerful katas out there.Does anyone else get that feeling as they practice Sochin?Sochin is a lovely kata. I always get a buzz when doing it. Maybe it has something to do with using fudo dachi and the rooting down every time you step in the kata that makes it feel so powerful. Sohan Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I was just informed this past weekend I need to learn Gojushiho and Unsu for my rokudan. I am excited about learning them both but Gojushiho is one I have wanted to learn for a long time.Gojushiho is one of my favorite kata. My sensei has changed the drunken stepping aspect, but it is still a wonderful form to practice. I always felt like I was doing "real karate" when I performed Gojushiho. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." I always felt like I was doing "real karate" when I performed Gojushiho. With respect,SohanI have seen it done many times and judged competitors perfomring it in tournaments on a few occasions and I agree it seems to show everything in it. True karate I think is a good explanation. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
