Iron Arahat Posted February 28, 2002 Posted February 28, 2002 There is currently a case in Seattle, WA in which the plantiffs claim that being forced to bow before a competition is religious discrimination. They state that bowing to things like Jigaro Kano (the founder of Judo) violates their civil rights, as they are following Shinto beliefs. I think this is taking things a little too far myself... CTpizzaboy Posted February 28, 2002 Posted February 28, 2002 Thats actually funny. In my Karate class, before class, we bow and sit on our needs and close our eyes for a few seconds. Very traditional. But when a new student come in or we have visitors, he'll say, "What we are doing is not something religious." or a comment in that flavor. Canh T.I often quote myself. It adds spice to my conversations.
