Ben Martin Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 cool thanks, i don't really like doing squats as there is a history of knee problems in my family and i dont like to put pressure on themYou should always see a doctor before doing exercise to ensure it is safe. However some people who perform squats do it wrong and end up with knee problems. Some go as far as to say that squats cause knee problems. This is wrong. Its not squats, its poorly performed technique. If done with proper technique squats, are very safe.yeah your right but when ever i do squats or those leg weights where lie almost upside down and you have to push the weight up by straightening your legs my knees click. when i do squats with the weights on my shoulders i do the horse riding stance and do them like that and its less pressure on my knees. Strive to Become The Type Of Person That Others Do Not Normally Encounter In This WorldI would love it if everyone i spoke to or met throughout my life would benefit from being with or speaking to me. - Life goalI See The Sunshine But Their's A Storm Holding Me Back.
AnonymousOne Posted May 17, 2005 Author Posted May 17, 2005 Ugh... have you been visiting the crossfit website? it sounds as if you were talking to one of the advanced trainers trying to come up with a brutal workout...Actually it sounds more like a Ross Enamait workout . He is more of a body weight and calistetic guy with sandbags and medecine balls thrown in for added resistance . His workouts are real butt kickers . His workouts are great but not for the feint of heart . I do like cross fit as well . They have great workouts Too ! Just a different approach. I have practised such sequences for well over 30 years. However I have read Ross Emanaits manuals (2) and yes he teaches very similar things and is a very hard out young man. A true warrior it seems I learnt this type of training from my teacher orginally 7th Dan ChidokaiA true combat warrior has to be hard as nails in mind, body and soul. Warriors are action takers and not action fakers. If you are cruising, make time for losing

Lots of great stuff in there . Just wondering what his other books are like . We are not so much individual beings as individual points of perception within one immense being.

fangshi Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 You seem to run very often . And at a pretty good clip too . I plan on adding that a little later in my progess . Morning workout pull ups - 18 (as many as I could hammer out in one rep )body weight squats - 364 ( as many as I could hammer out in one rep )divebomber pushups 94 (starting to get tuckered out )plank - not very long -need to work on that onelunges -100lie on floor and question why I just did that - about three min various crunch combos 200 in allYoga and stretching The plan for tonight is to get back into some basic movement and kata . Has to be lowwer intensity to start as per doctors orders. As for how long Its been 4 weeks tomorrow since the back surgery and things are going great Thanks for bearing with me AO it really does help !! If you are so inclined it would be great if we could keep this up for a bit . Feel free to add your opinions on the work that I do there may be things that I am omitting or whatever . And seeing what another persons workouts are like really helps to put myine in persective . We are not so much individual beings as individual points of perception within one immense being.
