Red J Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 I am sure that he left Villari over a difference of opinion or philosophy, I am just not sure why USSD does not publically recognize the years spent and ranks earned with Villari. I think that if they did they would gain some credibility as everyone who has been around a while knows that both USSD founders were in leadership roles with Villari for many years. I had to lose my mind to come to my senses.
Adonis Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 I consdier both villari and USSD guys business men first and formost. more information you expose your self to by doing your own research more educated you can be to picking a good instructor who you are comfortable with, and that you can learn well from them.
tigerclaw2 Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 Shaolinmonk, thoses so called agreements are $175 a year or $225 month to month. If you go with $175 and quit 6 months down the road you have to pay $50 extra for evry month you took and a 30 day notice. that was just how my instructor explained it to me I could be wrong and got screwed over by my instructor? Also I heard you can only buy 33% of a school not the whole thing is thi true? You also have to buy $750 worth of manuels a month (thats 15 manuels a month regard less if you sign up that many or not) Thats just what my instructor told me dont know if its true or not? Also ask your master what forms or techniques are shaolin. I think you will be suprised at his answers. Also my instructor had to get rides to work because he couldnt afford a car (HE HAD ABOUT 60 STUDENTS AND A NIDAN)
Adonis Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 business side kind of ruin the martial arts training side.
ShaolinMonk Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 (edited) tigerclaw2, Your old instructor is just starting out then if he has only 60 students, we have about 120 students and we make sure they can defend themselves (my instructor is also a ufc fan to the fullest). Your old instructor probably was just moved from a differnant state to start that dojo and if not thats his fault for not making his own money.. MY instructor never screws peaple like that have you tried asking why or how these fees came to existance. They have six moth programs or pre-pays that you can sign for, they lower you month to month cause theres less billing company fee's. now the 225 a month ment you were put on a whole nother agreement with and that meant you were responsible to know what you were getting into. The manuels iv bought are just one black belt manual and I get a video every time i test and thats it. I evan got the manuel for free when i signed up along with my first gi, and patches, and a yellow belt training video. I get a video every time i test and thats it. Edited July 3, 2005 by ShaolinMonk
ShaolinMonk Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 I'm still goin to find an answer about Vallari and why he isn included in USSD history. In my personal opinion i think thats more Mattera's personal linieage not USSD's because Mattera started USSD.
tigerclaw2 Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 shaolinmok, united studios was villlari and rudy horns original name they left nick cerios in 71 and stared ussd larry mangone a green belt with cerio left with villari and rudy horn. Villari was a 2nd dan and so was rudy hron. If you go to the ussd web site you can download the state of the arts news letterwhere mattera states he started training under a brown belt named larry mangone under cerio. I dont believe this is entirely true I have seen on other web sites (such as the one i posted above) that cerio cut alll contact off with villari and company since they open there own karate school, so that means larry recieved his brown belt from villari not cerio which means mattera started with villari not cerio. This is all stuff I've read at other web sites check it out for yourself just go to google and type fred villari.
tigerclaw2 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 SHAOLIM MONK, whats the deal with USSD taking 33% of the profit from there schools? Why does USSD needs to take there instructors $$$$$$$$$$$? Why cant they be like there fathers company VILLARIS and let them keep all there profit?
ninjamac Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Shaolinmonk, does'nt mattera just bow you in the black belt test then goes into the back to eat a pizza? And by the way the instructors college is $15,000 not $10,000 or are you barterring your services? https://www.shaolinkempo.com
Enviroman Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Most people consider USSD to be a black belt factory system...a McDojo of the highest order.
