UseoForce Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Why don't you give us a good overview? I'd really appreciate it. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
Shorin Ryuu Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Well, the Marine Corps Martial Arts...oh...yeah, looks like Scott can give you a better idea of it than I can... Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
Scott Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Marine Corp Marital Arts is designed on the philosophy that there are no time limits, level playing fields, or second chances in combat. MCMAP combines the best combat tested marital art skills: Brazilian jiu-jitsu, jeet kune do, akido, muay tai, and others. We teach our art through three disciplines: mental, character, and physical. MCMAP is standardized, has a belt system, uses a variety of weapons and is very tough mentally and physically. The overall objective is to create a Marine Warrior who can easily adapt to any combat situation. Gents I could go on forever on MCMAP its the most challenging, effective art I’ve ever studied and I really enjoy it.
UseoForce Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Thanks, sounds great! If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
Shorin Ryuu Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 Sounds good, Scott. Could you still go into a little more of the specifics, such as testing requirements and instruction rather than just the brochure version? Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
Scott Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Check out this site:https://www.tbs.usmc.mil, then click on martial arts. It tells you all you need to know.
Shorin Ryuu Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 Excellent link. Thanks.Edit: I saw one of the belt requirements (forget which one) it mentioned "muscle gouges". Is that referring to techniques similar to those in Chin Na (and others)? Martial Arts Blog:http://bujutsublogger.blogspot.com/
