Kit Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Hey i was wondering on ways to build up stamina for kicking and punching drills. I just can't seem to keep going and it's getting very very frusturating . i'll take any advice. Thanks
Goju_boi Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 do cardiovasculr exercises and if your school offers it, take a bag class. Also u can train like boxers and use heavy gloves to build up speed, power, and endurance https://www.samuraimartialsports.com for your source of Karate,Kobudo,Aikido,And Kung-Fu
Mr Pockets Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 Keep doing them, and other cardio things. Running (intervals) will almost certainly help. But if you're doing what I think you're doing, you'll just have to get your body up to speed with them.
Ben Martin Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=18350^thats the link to the burpees thread. personally i think that this is the best cardio exercise if you mix it in with running. i love these because they are so hard and they really make you push your self which is how you get maximum results. SevenStar Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 keep doing it. Alot of times, things like this are mental. You FEEL like you can't go on - make yourself, even if you have to slow down. The only way that you will ever pass a sticking point is to work BEYOND that point - not stopping at it. Once you pass it, then it will be easier for you to get to, and you will get tired shortly after - your new sticking point. with determination, you will reach your goal.
Ben Martin Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 well said:) Strive to Become The Type Of Person That Others Do Not Normally Encounter In This WorldI would love it if everyone i spoke to or met throughout my life would benefit from being with or speaking to me. - Life goalI See The Sunshine But Their's A Storm Holding Me Back.
aefibird Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Keep at it - the more you train the better your stamina will get.Even if you only do 10 seconds more each time you train, it will soon build up. You have to tell yourself that you can do it - if you think that you can't go on then you won't.Add running, cycling or swimming to your training if you don't already do so. "Was it really worth it?
