whenever i do an intense martial arts lesson, and i come home, within a minute my whole body becomes stiff like hell and i am aching everywhere, at this point i cant move my legs at all, and cant even lift my legs about waist height, but within the training session i can do kicks head height and outer crescent and inner crescent kicks around a tall person, no prob, but when i come home all my joints hurt, and after a good nights sleep, im still in pain,

any ideas to why this is??

Just a suggestion - after intense workouts, don't just "stop", you have to gradually cool down and stretch. It's such a misconception that you only stretch BRFORE your workout.

Yes, after your workout do some joint rotations (leg swings, unweighted squats, shoulder rotations) and go for a quick jog. This will all help to loosen the muscles up. Then do some stretching. If you are aching when you get home, try taking a nice long bath, and eating a banana also seems to help.

Basically, you need to get rid of that Lactate build up!

Good advaice Jack. May I also add.....

Fluid intake - before, during & after training!

Minerals - unless your diet is PERFECT - take a multivitamin & mineral supplement daily. Not those cheapo supermarket ones designed for old people - a decent sports strength one.

A proper cool down would be my port of call. Go for a one mile walk after training

Ad they have told you the best that can be done. Make sure you cool down properly after class. Post class stretching really sounds like something you need to take the time to do.

When your body is warm its the best time to stretch, its harder to develop flexibility when the muscles are cold

There are two types & times for stretching...

Maintenance / wrm up stretching - before training to prepare your body for the workout ahead. This should take you up to your current flexibility level.

Development stretching - done,a s AnonymouseOne says, at the end of training when your muscles are warm.
