informer Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Anybody going to Halifax April 7? http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
Jag-Isshinryu Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 I want to, but university exams start on the 11th. I have some Navy buddies posted to Halifax who will hopefully record it and have it sent to me. Here's hopin', but I'm sure it'll be great. cathal Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 What style, and where it is being held? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
Chito Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 What style? All styles across Canada. If your style (through your dojos) belongs to the provincial association, then it will be represented. How it works... if your dojo is in goodstanding with the provincial association, you can try out for the provincial team. But, I also think you can compete without being a member of the team in kata... could be mistaken on that though. Living in Halifax and having fellow club members compete (plus, one of my sensei is the provincial coach), I'll be there FUN!
cathal Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Where can I get information on this? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
informer Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 You can not just show up and compete, you must already be a provincial champion to compete at the NKA National event. The teams have already sent in their rosters. http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com

Chito Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 However... I'm pretty sure you can register for kata without being part of the team... team is all about kumite.
informer Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 chito i'm sorry but each province can only enter 2 people per kata division these are the nka rules. for the "over age 40 division" anybody can enter as long as they are a member of the nka. http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
informer Posted March 10, 2005 Author Posted March 10, 2005 People, please do not show up to this comp. thinking you can compete. Like I said all the names for kata and all kumite divisions from all provinces have already been sent in to the chairman. I know this for fact. This goes for all divisions except "over age 40" maybe chito is thinking of a different tourny http://www.mixedmartialartsexpo.com
