If that's the case, we might all three be testing together.

The more the merrier.

Oh yea I can hardly wait. I was told that when you become a black belt you are suppose to go back and relearn all the material from the ground up. Any truth to that? Something like you aren't suppose to learn anything for a year so you can go back and review everything.

Yeah, that can sometimes be the case.

I did learn new material right away, because there is a lot to learn between 1st and 2nd. However, you always have to wait the same number of years as the next belt level, before you can start testing again.

2yrs before testing for 2nd

3 before third

etc.

I knew all the material for 3rd a few months after 2nd (long story), but I'm just now starting to test. They like you to be solid in what you already know.

So does the time start over after each belt? What I mean is after you reach 2nd degree do you have to wait three years to test for third or only one more year?

After 1st - Wait two years.

After 2nd - Wait another three years

After 3rd - Wait another 4 years

After that, it's entirely up to Kuk Sa Nim. Because the next step is Master.

That is a pretty good way of doing it. Because then KSW would be full of all kinds of masters or upper BB's plus it really brings out your dedication to wait all that time.

Yep. It demonstrates the 2 P's, and gives you plenty of time to make all the previous material second nature.

They also like you to begin teaching (or just helping out in class), which also makes your basics much more solid.
