Pulling off a back-flip.

I learnt both front and back flips on a tramp first. I practised till i could do them without bouncing first. then got down on the lawn and went for it.

Of course I crapped out the first time. But it wasn't as painfull as I had feared and I realised it was a matter of commitment. You have to decide that your gonna do it no no matter what.If you give it a half * attempt you're gonna wipe out.

Actually front flips are more dangerous if you dont make it. landing on your tail bone can really hurt.Once I over spun and face planted the ground and broke my nose.Ouch! oops didn't mean to put you off!

For back flips follow seven stars advice.Focus on jumping high and tucking. You'll probably land on your hands and feet the first time but it dosen't hurt.Just commit youself and you'll do it.

Good luck!

ya don't jump back jump UP, a perfect flip is one where you land on the same spot you took off.

I've busted my knie by trying bflip and a friend of mine got his shoulder poped out by a bad landing.

I don't mean te scare you .. but they don't call it XMA for nothing if you do flips and twists :D

yeah a trampoline :-)

Hardcore trickster learn all that * on grass ... but I'm not hardcore :-) I use a matras, caus I haven't got access to a gym.

But I you do have access to a gym, train in the gym and use crash mats and stuff. It will help you overcome your fear. So one day you can do it on grass and then on stone.

Thanks that site looks useful but I can't get around the fear part, If you land on your head you could be paralised, ever known that to happen?

Is a flip with hands a back flip?

Okay, I consider myself acrobatic enough... I can do a front-flip, side flip, heck, maybe I could flip diagonally backwards as long as my head's looking at where I'm going, but for some reason, I just can't get a backflip off. I'm very confident that I CAN do one, but I just can't convince my body to try it and that it won't get hurt. This is probably more of a mentality thing than an actual physical thing. So I'm wondering, those of you that can do them, how did you bring yourself to actually attempting them?

If you want to get better at "back flips", I recommend you attend a Benny Hinn concert. I see people there can really back flip!!

I know you need to start of with a back hand spring first (which I have tried and failed) and then you should try the backflip.

I also think you should have somone to help like a instruecter.
