monkeygirl Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 I went to the gym on Friday and did some leg curls. Thursday was the first time I had done them in a while, because they always made my knee click. This time, I've found that by pointing my toes, the clicking stops/lessens. I experienced no pain doing the curls, but on Saturday I started to feel knee pain. I'm not sure if that is the cause, or doing kata outside in the cold on Saturday. However, I have also been kicking in cold weather, so that's not unusual. Didn't experience pain then, either. My right knee on the outside tendon is very sore and it hurts to move it at all, especially to extend it. There is nothing visibly different about my knee, although it feels slightly swollen. It's been hurting for a day and a half now, no improvement. I was wondering if maybe anybody knew what was going on or if the description of pain sounded familiar. Thanks! 1st dan & Asst. SevenStar Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 go get it checked out. In some cases, repeated clicking/grinding can indicate some other injury, such as a grinding noise in the shoulder being an indicator of a rotator cuff injury. It could be an injury, but then again, it could be nothing. Better safe than sorry though, I'd get it looked at. Also, I'm not sure how heavy the weight you were using was, but if you've been off from lifting for a while and then go back to it, be sure not to go too heavy until you work back up to it.
Davantalus Posted February 1, 2005 Posted February 1, 2005 My knee issues seemed to pop up when the weather gets cold. I created a big old post about knees problems a ways back. It should be easy to search for because I've got all of 10 posts or something.
monkeygirl Posted February 3, 2005 Author Posted February 3, 2005 It seems to have calmed down quite a bit now. Still not sure what happened, but if it crops up again I'll get it checked out. Thanks for your support and information. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
krzychicano Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 I also get some knee pains when it is cold. You should still get it checked out. One day I will take my own advice on this subject hahaha. What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others. - Confucius
