It seems as though everytime I grapple, my legs get wrapped up and I struggle with them and when my toes bend (it's always on my left foot/leg) they cramp up and my toes feel broken:o (as I'm sure you know how bad cramps hurt) and that's not very good while I'm in the middle of a match or even practicing, 'cuz I'll get taken everytime. Many people have told me to eat bananas for the potassium..but just curious..what does the potassium do? Anything else I might be able to do? I don't really know any stretches for this, as it's normally if my toes bend...

I do all of the above, but it doesn't seem to help..it's always in my left foot too..it's liek when my middle and next to middle toes bend down it pulls a muscle then ym whole foot and bottom leg shuts down.

warm up, stretch, get enough water.

I agree . If that does not help than you may want to see a doctor. Do you have any pain in your upper leg or butt?

We are not so much individual beings as individual points of perception within one immense being.

No it's normally just when my toes bend and I tense up my foot too much...possibly I have some extra tight tendons? I might have to see a doctor about it...hmm..

Could be nerve too. Hard to say. A doctor could tell you better. Accupucnture may help. Ask your doctor. Typically they stick with pyhsio , but, I have had success with Accupunture.

Yup, I get that too, but mine magicly desapeard someday, but I know some good streching exercises.

Sit and cross your legs. Now, bend your toes downward then upward, do that 10 times and then do that on your other foot, now do the first foot again and then do the second foot again.

Oh, I don't know how it work's but I know it works, Potassium is the key.

If you mix all the above and still get cramps, well, you should really go to the doctor.

it could be a training issue - your body just may not be used to it yet. keep training, keep stretching.

As far as potassium goes, potassium is key in dissipating lactic acid in the muscles. the less lactic acid buildup, the better off you are, naturally.

banannas are a decent source of potassium. much better sources are raisins, mushrooms, spinach, greens (collard, mustard and kale), and cod.
