buddy Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 ive recently pulled my hamstring about two weeks ago, when trying to kick too high without warming up (stupid i know) and following that i couldnt even kick to the waist since then ive been reading the articles about other ppls injuries and now am proper worried about my injury. i have never really injured myself and dont want to be out of my martial art for long. i was wondering if ne one has actual exp of being set back for more than a month due to injury and ne sure ways to aid the healing. it used to hurt when i sat down, but now i just get a dull ache when sitting and can only kick below the waist (as i fear worsening it if i kick ne higher) and when is it safe to return to full training?
the tkder Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 OMG!! da same thing happened 2 me about a year ago, i woke up and did an ax kick and fell down criying. it hurt 4 about 3 months then sloly stopped. anywase dont quit ma just go ez. u can still go 2 classes and stuf. June1 Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I agree. Keep going to class, but go at your own pace. The same thing happened to me... it takes a while to get better. Use R.I.C.E. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. It really, really helps. Carefully test how high you can kick every so often, but go slowly. You don't want to aggravate the injury... like I did when I pulled my groin. Kool Kiais: ICE! DIE! KITES! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHH!
