ShotokanKid Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Is wearing loose undergarments such as boxers unhealthy for a certain male part? I mean obviously it's unhealthy if you get kicked there but I'm talking like for example just working out or running? Thanks for any response. SaiFightsMS Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Methinks I should leave this one to the guys.
cross Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I think the only problem you would come across wearing boxers while training would be "stretching" of the part in question. You can have the opposite problem if your under clothes are 2 tight. I guess it comes down to personal preference. If boxers dont work for you wear normal underwear.
steveb Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I don't know about whether or not its unhealthy, but it is uncomfortable for me to run without some support down there. I wear briefs or compression shorts when running. Res firma, mitescere nescit
fangshi Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I know there can be problems associated with tight fiting undergarments for long periods of time. Besides comfort I am not aware of any issues with loose fitting undergarments. In my personal experience I do feel that there are times when athletic support is better but I also know people that use nothing at all as far as under garments when training. We are not so much individual beings as individual points of perception within one immense being.
krzychicano Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I always wear somewhat loose fitting undergarments. Personally when I wear tight fitting I get the urge to use the facilities and it sucks cause I don't want to go but it takes my mind of the training. So for me loose is the way to go. GhostlySykanRyu Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I wear briefs myself...couldn't imagine kicking forcefully without support...well let's not get into that too much.... To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
Nick_UKWC Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Something with support for training all the way, sometimes I forget, but I always regret it when I do. "...or maybe you are carrying a large vicious dog in your pocket." -Scottnshelly
VinnieDaChin Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 actually no its better. for just sometimes, something tight is fine, you wont have any problems. but, in general boxers are healthy because your balls (there, i said it) will often times get too warm because they are kept too close to the body. this is why the skin, sack, whatever sometimes shrivels and sometimes loosens up- closer to the body if theyre too cold and further away if theyre quite warm.

It's been shown that some fertility problems in men can be caused by the testicles being too warm all the time and boxers are recommended for men with this problem. Other than that I have not heard of any other issues related to boxers/briefs other than comfort. Res firma, mitescere nescit
