pineapple
I believe that the most practiced style of what you listed is Tae kwon do. What works works
Nick_UKWC
Most widley used I'd say TKD. Perhaps the most famous is Wing Chun (thanks Bruce ) or maybe "Jiu Jit Su? I'm going to learn..Jiu Jit Su?" (Thanks Neo ) "...or maybe you are carrying a large vicious dog in your pocket." -Scottnshelly
aefibird
Probably "karate" (generic, most non-MAists haven't heard of the famous styles), along with "Kung Fu" (again, most non-MAists haven't heard of the types of KF) and TaeKwon Do. If non-Martial Artists have heard of specific styles, then it's likely to be Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do, thanks to a certain B. Lee.... "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." fangshi
Just a guess but TKD is up there . Tai Chi is VERY big too . Go to china you will see what I mean . We are not so much individual beings as individual points of perception within one immense being.
ShotokanKid
I agree with everyone who's posted. There are MANY TKD studios. Everyone around my age either takes TKD or Shotokan. Off the top of my head, I know 6 people at my school who do Shotokan at my studio. But most children take TKD. "What we do in life, echoes in eternity.""We must all fear evil men. senna_trem
Well, the one that most people have heard of would probably be TKD or Tai Chi. "I think therefore I am" Rene Descartes
italian_guy
Probably "karate" (generic, most non-MAists haven't heard of the famous styles), along with "Kung Fu" (again, most non-MAists haven't heard of the types of KF) and TaeKwon Do. If you mean the more widespread throughout the world I would bet on karate (here in Italy and also somehow in the rest of Europe TKD is not as popular as in the states). If you mean the style with more practitioners I would bet on Tai Chi Chuan.
