Taku-Shimazu Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Where do you guys train? I find training in a forest more efficient. What about you? The cool summer breeze passes me by.
Omega14 Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Forest eh? Well, I live in a urban center. No access to the woods for me.
TheDevilAside Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Dojo. More equiptment, safer enveironment. "If you're going through hell, keep going." - Sir Winston Churchill
Hudson Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Most efficient? Somewhere with mirrors and a teacher (Like a gwoon) so I can get proper critique. The game of chess is much like a swordfight; you must think before you move.
busling Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I voted for the Dojo. The environment, equipment and willing training partners allows for focused and efficent training. Train Hard --- http://www.combatcentres.com/
Mr. Mike Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I say dojo for the already mentioned reasons, but when I practice solo, I go out to hte pier here and use the end which is a 30'x30' slab of concrete surrounded by water. The effect of the slow waves and solitude just cannot be explained. There is no way I'm stressed after a workout like this. Taku-Shimazu Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 I agree entirely, there is a stream in the forest near my home and also the 'river Wye',(if you look it up near hereford you can see my home. Anyway back to the point training alone offers many benefits, especially with water near.(Something to do with Chi). The cool summer breeze passes me by.
ncole_91 Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I would have to pick the dojo, for all the reasons listed above, safer, more equipment, have expert advice, other karateka willing to learn and to help out.
