Son Goku the monkeyking Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 who whould win in a fight the legendary Bruce Lee or the equally legendary Jackie Chan. HOLLA
Mr. Mike Posted January 9, 2005 Posted January 9, 2005 jackie chan...bruce lee can't even defend himself anymore assuming both are alive, my money is on Mr. Lee. When a man's fortunate time comes, he meets a good friend; When a man has lost his luck, he meets a beautiful woman.-anonymous
Straight Blast Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 ive heard rumors that jackie chan only learned MA for movies. He maybe slick like a monkey going for a golden banana, but if you have seen jackies ''Another Fist of Fury'',you would see hes not as light footed as bruce was. Also jackie may lack in some other abilities.
senna_trem Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Bruce Lee! Jackie Chan is a nobody compared to him. Jackie Chan is old now too, he's only getting more feeble and he probably won't make as many movies now. He's over 50, they don't want that in Hollywood! So then he won't has as long of a film rep. as Bruce Lee. "I think therefore I am" Rene Descartes
The Saint Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Bruce Lee hands down "Pain is the best instructor, but no one wants to go to his class." Choi, Hong Hi ITF Founder
Gosuku Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Is this for real? Lets see, Jackie Chan is an actor and Bruce Lee was a street fighter. Who do you think?
GhostlySykanRyu Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Yep, Chan learns limited techniques just for the movies. He's an actor, not a martial artist, and proud of it. Nothing wrong with that. LOL, on the outtakes of Rush Hour 2 (I think), Chan tells about how he lost sparring with Chris Tucker via kick to the face. LOL... "So then he won't has as long of a film rep. as Bruce Lee." -Not necessarily. Most people watching MA action films don't really care who the better fighter is realistically...it's who can put on a good show. Chan pruduced a lot more films, and is a good actor. His film rep will be around just as long as Lee's...FOREVER To condemn the art of another is to condemn your own as well. We all have the same origin.
jedimc Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Think about where they learned thier martial arts, Bruce lee was taught by Yip Man, the legendary Wing Chun grandmaster and Jackie Chan got taught by his acting school in hong kong, Jackie doesnt use real martial arts he uses "reel" martial arts, techniques that look good on camera. http://jedimc.tripod.com/ma.html - what MA do you do, this is my poll.
italian_guy Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 Taken both in their prime I think Bruce Lee would win.. no doubt. Anyway I would not disregard too much Jackie Chan, although in the movie he shows all this fancy movement in order to make a good looking movie, his agility, speed and flexibility would make him a very good MArtist. I don't know if he can be considered so and how he trains but , at least is potentially very good.
