Topic
I bruised my shins really bad from sparring in muay thai, but tha todesnt concern me, what does concern me is that i have lumps on a couple of diff places on my shin and once i bruised the one spot and it lumped up i kept kicking wiht that leg and i kept hitting that spot on my shin wiht the lump. my question is that is it bad to keep hitting the lumped or bruised spots once u get the hurt? what happens to your shin if i keep doing that, am i weakiening the shin or hardening it? Abyss
I'm no expert but I wouldn't go abusing anything that's already injured, you should let it heal before you kick any more hard objects.

Agreed. Your shin is injured..give it time to heal and it should be tougher the next time. Doing more injury to it at this point could end up doing PERMANENT damage. VinnieDaChin
yea, wear thai pads if you need to. also, tigerbalm seems to help me when that happens. you might want to do the rolling pin thing- the object being to flatten your shinbone and thus prevent breaks and other injuries, toughen it up a little. also- when its better, hit the bag with it as much as possible to toughen it up too. aefibird
Use dit da jow, tigerbalm or arnica cream on the affected areas and make sure that you rest your shins as much as possible to allow them to heal. Keeping on training and hitting hard objects with them could cause you long-term injury problems. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
