aefibird Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 I have very poor ankle flexibility. I stretch every day and try and concentrate on loosening them up. However, my right ankle is particularly poor, as it is affected because of an on-going knee problem I have - the knee-cap is twisting over to one side which is placing strain on all my lower right leg. My physiotherapist (that I see about my knee problem) says to keep going with the stretching, but I'm looking for some tips to improve the flexibility in my ankles and descriptions of and pictures of stretches, just in case there's any out there that I haven't tried! For additional information, I have a lot of scar tissue on the top of my left foot, because of a major operation on it when I was a child. I get a lot of pain in that when I stretch. It affects the tendon too, as the surgeon had to cut through it and reattach it. Any tips gratefully recieved!! Thanks. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." I have the same problem, but the other way round. I.e. my knee is rolling in because my ankle flexibilty is so poor. I am having steroid injection in my ankle this week, so hopefully that will start to ease the problem, but I could do with also finding out what exercises would be good for my knee and ankle as I guess the muslces/tendons etc. will need training to go back to the proper position.
