I'll get to the point. I am in bad physical condition. I am a whightbelt with 6 month expiriece. I lost 20 lbs but recently I got braces (about 3 months or so ago) and for some reason left the dojo up untill now. I want to go back but i want to get back into good shape and then my master will let me resume where I was rank wise in the blackbelts. He's a great guy and I am glad he's giving me this chance at little cost to me at all to come back!

My whieght is in my thighs and stomatch. Also my left arm is preety useless any idea of how to bring me back up to par ^^.

Exspecially that arm it slows me down alot on my pushups pull ups ect.

THANKS-=-

Well, firstly, getting back into martial arts training will help you to lose weight. Secondly, doing cardio excercise would be a great place to start - such as swimming, running, cycling, power walking etc.

Adding light weight training will also benefit you, and help with your MA training.

Even simple changes to your lifestyle will help, such as taking the stairs, not the lift; cycling or walking if you're going somewhere close instead of driving or getting a ride; parking your car further away in the car park at the mall (so you have to walk further).

Also, make sure your diet is a good one, with lots of fresh fruit and veg and plety of water. Cut down on fats and "bad" carbs - cakes, biscuits etc. Cut them out altogether if you can, although just reducing them will benefit you anyway.

Good luck with your weight loss. It can be a very hard thing to do, so I really hope that you suceed with it. Let us know how you get on. :)

I start the diet and excersice tommarow if it is succesful Ill either make a post or reply to this one with the results and how i accomplished ect. I'll go for an 1hr of light excersise,( 3 or so sets of 25, crunches, pushups, stretches) and if I am not tired maybe another set. Also i plan to work on my teqniques and kata.

Thanks my friend!

The 1 hour of light exercise may not do much. In order to lose weight, the emphasis should be placed on aerobic activities, such as jogging, swimming etc.

That should be enough. if you are running at about 6-8 miles/hour, that will give you a good 20 to 30 minute workout, which should be sufficient. Another note that may be helpful is to do your running within 30 minutes after your weight training. This will allow for the maximum amount of fat to be burned.
